Extra Innings Program

The 2012 Extra Innings Program is a first year offer to Junior Baseball of Oregon, Little League, and Cal Ripken players and is in the developmental stages of production.  This particular division of NWDS Development Programs features a structure of progressive training similar to the highly successful Academy Program but has been scaled down to better suite the needs of players who have a full time commitment to their local JBO, L.L., or Cal Ripken baseball programs.

The design of the program is set to: prepare players for their local try-outs with Pre-Season Training in February, create Plans for Development for each individual player through Video Analysis and Written Evaluations (based on strengths and weaknesses), execute those plans for development through Professional Instruction and Training; and teach Team Concepts while reinforcing fundamental baseball in a competitive environment that will get players the extra innings they need to develop.

Program Format:

Dates: February (pre-season training), March - June (progressive training in executing plans for development)

20 Practices: practices average once weekly with focuses including: defensive individuals training, advanced batting approach, run production,  baseball strategies, mental approach, pitching development, and how to apply each individual player's stengths to team concepts.

20 Game Schedule: including tournament play, independent games, and academy program combined scrimmages.
