CAMPS & CLINICS


Camps and clinics are a great way for players to refresh their skills and expand their knowledge as they prepare to start training and practice for a new season. Each year Northwest Diamond Sports hosts annual camps, clinics, and combines at our facility and local ballparks to present as many opportunities as possible for players to learn the game. All of our clinics are instructed by NW Diamond Sports staff and often times welcome guest instructors from collegiate and professional baseball. This year’s Holiday Camp with feature Jed Lowrie of the Boston Red Sox. The 2009 On the Mound pitching clinic will feature Austin Bibens-Dirkx, closing pitcher of the Seattle Mariners Organization. NW Diamond Sports Summer Baseball Camp

The NW Diamond Sports Summer Baseball Camp is an annual camp run each year by Northwest Diamond Sports Instructors and local collegiate players. Traditionally, this camp has been held at Waluga Park in Lake Oswego, Oregon and boasted a great turn out year in and year out. The all skills camp has proven to be a great way for players to get their last bit of baseball instruction before the end of the summer season. HOLIDAY CAMP - ALL SKILLS CAMP

The 2008 Northwest Diamond Sports Holiday Camp is an all skills camp to be held at the Northwest Diamond Sports Academy. Instruction at the camp will be led by NW Diamond Sports instructors and will feature Jed Lowrie of the Boston Red Sox as a guess instructor to talk about hitting in the big leagues. NW Diamond Sports Hitting League – D.S.F.L.


The D.S.F.L. is a competitive 5 week hitting league hosted at the Northwest Diamond Sports Academy during the months of October and February. The hitting league is a great way for players to get extra swings in simulated short toss games. Over the course of a 5 week schedule teams will compete in 5 inning games in multiple 7 game series. On the Mound – Pitching Clinic

The 2009 On the Mound pitching clinic set for Sundays in January will beheld at the Northwest Diamond Sports Academy. Instruction will be led by Northwest Diamond Sports Instructors Bryan Goff and Gehrig Richins. Making his appearance at this clinic for a second straight year is a pitcher from the Seattle Mariners Organization, Austin Bibens-Dirkx. The clinic will cover many aspects of pitching including: delivery and mechanics; drills and skills work; adding pitches, and movement; importance of location and changing speeds; pitching objectives, mental approach, and pitching philosophy. All You Can Hit B.P.


All You Can Hit B.P. sessions are one hour batting sessions in which players will get as many cuts as our instructors can reel out in one hour. This year’s All You Can Hit sessions will feature the addition of light instruction with emphasis on batting in counts, run production, and situational hitting. All You Can Hit B.P. sessions are scheduled for Saturdays in January in groups of 4-6 players.
