2010 Try-Out Update for Parents and Players
Here at NW Diamond Sports we have made much progress in sifting and sorting through the many players that participated in this year’s try-out. Teams have first draft rosters, depth charts have been assembled, and we are in the final stages of fine-tuning our plan for development for each team in the program.
As planned, our staff will now begin calling parents and players to set up meetings for each individual family to discuss player participation within the program. As you know we have more than 50 families to meet with so your patience as we work through this process is very much appreciated. We feel it is important to note, we would like to sit with each and every family to discuss a plan for development for your son. For some players we feel the program is a good fit and for other players we feel might need a little more time to develop or would best benefit with a different plan for development. Either way, we want what is best for your son and we would like to be a part of his development both before and in the upcoming season.
Below is an overview of what is to be covered in Player/Parent/Coaches Meetings. Information packets with specific info for your team will be given to each family at meetings.
In ATP Meetings Our Staff will Discuss with you the Parent(s):
Details of the 2010 Academy Teams Program
NWDS Coaching Philosophy
Player’s Fit in Our Program
Our Plan of Attach for Developing Players
Academy Program Policies/Procedures
Player and Parent Contracts
Finances, Fundraising, and Payment Options
In Alternative Plans for Development Meetings Our Staff will Discuss with you the Parent(s):
Option of Becoming an Alternate Player

Players will need to wear regular/athletic or turf shoes and bring their bats, gloves, and helmets. (If you do not have a bat we have demo bats from DeMarini at the facility). Catchers should bring their gear should there be an opportunity for them to do some catching.
