First of all, I just wanted to say thank you to all of the players and parents for being a part of the 2010 NW Diamond Sports Hitting League.  This year was a huge success and the biggest year ever, consisting of 20 teams.  Overall I felt the league was very competitive and exciting for all of the teams.  As a staff we are always looking for ways to evolve our programs to make them the best we can.  If you have any suggestions to make the Hitting League better please e-mail us with anything.   

Another high intensity Sunday for the NW Diamond Sports Hitting League.  Team Hummel sure has stepped its game up defeating Team Bowmen, who has suffered a tough shoulder injury in their lineup (Reimer).  Team Nipp upset a very strong team Kelly, placing team Nipp in first place for pool B.  Team Sporre in pool D got their first win over the  Children of the Corn and the Game Cocks also received their first W over team Hays.  There are four teams waiting to play on Tuesday 11/9/10.  T-SQUAD is battling Farrenkopf and Prentice (Addison) will be gunning for the power house Gelfand team.  Things within the Power Ranking will be changing after tomorrow night.  It will be interesting to see how the bracket will look after week 4.   

For the Home Run King, Hunter Spriggs is still Blowing Up! Leading the pack with 11 Home Runs over the second place Austin Kelly with 7.  Remember the HR King is based off of the player with the most HR's over the course of the first 4 weeks. That means the there is only one more week to get the HR KING TROPHY! It is a tight race and anyone can win, it just depends on who is hot!

Another exciting week in the books for the NWDS Hitting League.  Week 2 Standings and Home Run King Race are attached below, I have also given you the links to the website below as well.  If you ever want to check updated information, you can always go to the website www.nwdiamond.com and all of Hitting League info is on the top right of the home page.  Vote on the front page who will win the World Series?

Team Kelly and T-Squad are once again on top of the Power Rankings, all I can say is that these teams can absolutely swing PIPE!  There was some big wins from yesterday that made a statement.  Team Ramey led by Andrew Ramey had a clean sweep putting their team into to first place in pool D.  Also team Prentice AKA (Children of the Corn) are making a splash in pool C, leading the way with only 3 total losses and winning with authority two weeks in a row.  A couple of sleeper teams stepped up last night making a nice showing, Team Hummel, Team Potter and Team Pelley.  These teams will make a stand in the November Madness!  The teams to look out for are Hays, Gelfand, Nipp and the D-Jacks.  These teams have not even played, on 10/26/10 we will see who the standouts really are.  Team Gelfand has always shown extremely strong the past three years in the league, they are Favorites to win both Tuesday evening.

The Home Run King Race was blown out on Sunday Evening.  Team Kelly led by Austin Kelly has 6 and running strong in the race.  Will Taylor is in Second with 5 holding it down and Stathis & Butler with 4 are only trailing by one HR.  This year it is close and the trophy could go to anyone.
