GAME OF FAILURE

Posted by: jose Print PDF
Tagged in: QUOTES

At every practice with our baseball teams we like to use a quote with our players. Last week we used the following quote from Mickey Mantle:

" During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at bats a season. That means I played seven years without ever hitting the ball".

-- Mickey Mantle --

Baseball is a game of failure.  We want players to understand that they are going to fail. The question is how you overcome the adversity? Northwest Diamond Sports would love to hear your thoughts on the issue.

Failure is a part of life. Scott and I really like how Jose is constantly teaching the boys about the game. It makes a difference when they hear it from someone who has had the experince of success and failure. Keep up the good work.

"Failure is a stepping stone up in learning how to succeed. NWDS teaches
persistence and instills confidence, qualities that will make our children
better ball players and better people. "
