Coaches fix mechanics when they are not broken

As a player devolopment instructor I have a lot of experience with players getting frustrated with their hitting mechanics. What I notice  is that their mechanics are good, but they are not in rythem and time with their load and stride. When hitters do not get down and flat with their front foot on time they will essentially unlock out of sequence causing thier mechanics to break down. When coaching hitters be sure to check timing before adjusting mechanics.

Simple things

It tends to be the simple things; when you have a good hitter that keeps getting frustrated with his results it can end up being something as simple as getting his foot down on time(as previously mentioned) the foot doesn't get down and the trigger isn't allowed to start on time, which leads to pulling with the upper body(not good). Something simple that I have noticed is looking at the eyes of kids when they hit, if your head tilts at any point during the swing you are going to be trying to hit a ball disoriented basically. Try to catch a ball with your head turned sideways...much harder. Anyways just noting we shouldn't try to analyze someone's swing so much that we miss the obvious.
